Petworth Park and The White Hart

We made it across the pond, and surprisingly they let Craig through immigration. Though he did get in trouble at customs trying to take pictures.
After a good nights sleep in my old bed we headed to Petworth Park, a lovely old estate from the mega rich which is actually bordered by a brick wall (to keep the commoners out) around 700 acres of property. You can read more about it at :
http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-petworthhouse
The main reason for heading there was for Craig to see the deer of our country-though he's not allowed to shoot them. There are hundreds of them within the estate so you are guaranteed to see them, Craig was very surprised and thrilled.

It's a beautiful place to walk around with hundreds of old oak trees everywhere...

After all that walking we needed a beer so we headed to the White Hart in Stopham, Such a cute little pub next to an ancient bridge that they only stopped using as the main road is 1986!

Craig and his first proper English Pint.

Mumsie and me.

It's so nice being home, I forget what a special place England is and seeing it through Craig's foreign eyes makes me appreciate it so much more. He is passed out asleep with jet-lag and over-stimulation, we both made it till about 6pm tonight then couldn't survive without a nap.

Breakin the board in

So my snowboard has been calling to me the last few weeks..trouble is the ski resort is 1.5 hours away and costs mucho mullah. I've been nagging my mates to go for a backcountry hike but its hard to get people motivated!

I finally tricked my friend Tamera to go up Tiehacker with me, its a steep quick accent through the trees which sucks the life out of you when you have a board strapped to ya back. I curse the thing then forget the pain for 3 mins of bliss powder.

It was Tamera's first time up the mountain so she had a smile on her face when she checked out the view...you should see it on a sunny day!

This was me after making my first tracks of the season, I had one slight tumble when I went off a small ledge to be greeted by some bushes beneath-Still lots to be covered up, but it was some sweet powder!

Can you spot Tamera in this pic coming down? Its like Where's Wally?

The White Stuff

Our winter came late this year but its been making up for it by dumping alot of snow in the last few weeks.
Good thing we have a snowblower these days.

I like to get out on the nice clear days to enjoy this beautiful place! Plus a few hours of sunlight helps me avoid the SAD fever. I hiked up one of my fav local spots, Lost Lake last week while Craig was out slaughtering the bambies on a testosterone fueled trip.

This trail is a local fav for the snowmachiners too which makes the hike abit easier with all the packed down snow.

There's a cabin up top which I've stayed at before.

Here's the view over resurrection Bay and our tiny little town. Perfect day!

New Birds at our house

It has been a while since I had a post, and lately I have been doing nothing but snowblowing the driveway. These new additions to our indoor bird flock have been great for the indoor bird watching.

Here is the video of the Tiny Chicks in the nest. They are basically just fur balls with mouths.

Here they are all lined up, there are 5 total. Their names are, "baldy" and "grey bird" 4 of the new birds look the same so they all share one name. This brings our total of birds at this habitat to 10. You can see "Whitey" out front and center there is the mom of all these misfits.

This little fruitcake flew out while I was photographing. It was quite an exctiting flight around the house for this one.

"Whitey" is kind of an egg laying machine. She likes to lay about 1 egg every other day in the birdseed.
